Heiden was formed in 2003 in Brno, as a two-member pagan black metal project by Kverd & Varnag. Along with the development of the band‘s line-up, the musical intention also developed and grew, and across the recordings, during the course of Heiden's existence, a gradual shift from black metal to post metal and alternative rock can be observed. The highlight of this period are the prized albums „Dolores“ (2011), as well as „A kdybys už nebyla, vymyslím si tě“ (2013).
After all that post-rock dreaming, in 2022 Heiden returns fully along the thorny journey back in time, and on the current album „Andzjel“ they’re more metal and serve sophisticated progressive black metal with poetry strongly inspired by the White Carpathian region and a typically melancholic atmosphere. Completely different from the rest, Heiden loners float across genres and inspirations.
